Board yet?

Southampton have become pretty invincible recently and while I doubt we will match Arsenal’s feat of going a whole season unbeaten (well, not without cheating!) we have notched up our second Premiership title.

With that comes the offer of being on the Board. Nothing too special other than the fact you cannot be fired. I intend to explore this theory by playing as many of my youth projects as I dare and see if supporters issue death threats in this game…

Success!

I have only ruddy well gone and done it! Premier League Champions after years of being an also ran.

The key to it has been the signings. Admittedly two were defenders and former World Players of the Year but my best achievement was weaving in the "youth" players I had been picking up from random clubs.

The best being a young defender called Agbo, but be careful... there are loads of players called Agbo!

In the end it got more about the players than the tactics. I found that playing my successful 5-3-2 home or away got results once I had the right team and captain in place. Now down to the Champions League...

Underdog Fight

Often I feel like throwing the game through the window? Why? Home sides that are vastly inferior deciding to “take the game to the opposition”. All too often my side is sitting in the top four in December and then I find myself travelling to Norwich or Leicester who are in the relegation zone and they give me the hiding of my life.

My attacking 5-3-2 should bee too much for them but they have the upper hand. I had tried over compensating by reverting to a 5-3-2 or 4-4-2 defensive but with now effect.

Then at last I have cracked it. A straight forward 5-3-2 with passing normal does the trick. You have to be quick when starting the game. As soon as you read that they are up for it you must hit Away Tactics as they will no doubt score in the next 10 minutes.

If you make it to half time at 0-0 then contemplate going back to all out attack.
