The Football Manager Handheld Diary

I'm getting too old for this...

Like all good things they come to an end and after 30 (handheld) years your management career comes to an abrupt end.

It came a bit too soon for me as I really thought Rochdale could have built on their Champions' League and FA Cup win and push on to win the league!

You get your own farewell message though. My retirement was heartfelt even by my closest rivals.

I have now restarted the game and will take on some fresh challenges and experiment a bit to see if I can improve on what I did last time round. Who am I kidding, you just know I am going to stick with that 5-3-2!

I was robbed!

There you are, a small club with a sugar daddy. In truth this means he will trump up about £25 million a year for you to spend. Not a great deal but enough to buy one of the World Players of the Year most seasons to help build up your squad.

There is one word of caution. If you have more than the usual amount going into the end of the season make sure you spend it. I sold a player in at the last knockings of January's window so had a healthy balance of £40 million. I thought my £millionion bonus would mean I could plan for world domination but to my horror the sugar daddy nicked £15m!

He giveth with one hand...
